Plečnik’s Unrealized Projects for Ljubljana
Exhibition Catalogue
What would Ljubljana look like if the architect Jože Plečnik had succeeded in realizing all of his ideas and plans? The catalogue Plečnik’s Unrealized Projects for Ljubljana offers at least a partial answer, presenting in a multilayered way four of the architect’s major projects that were never built: a new City Hall, the Butchers’ Bridge, a parliament building on Castle Hill with a monumental central staircase leading to the castle, and the Cathedral of Freedom in Tivoli Park.

Plečnik’s unrealised projects were recreated with 3D modelling, visualisation and 3D print for the exhibition at the Plečnik House.
This was a collaboration with the architect Nejc Bernik from the France Stele Institute of Art History ZRC SAZU and masters’ graduate Anja Škerjanc with mentor prof. dr. Deja Muck from the Chair of Information and Graphic Arts Technology at the Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana.
