A compact bag that goes with you to the market, a picnic, or your everyday errands – without turning into a bottomless pit of mixed-up belongings. In addition to the main compartment, it features two extra pockets for organizing smaller essentials. The Chinese knot made from a shoelace (discarded by the factory due to a minor cosmetic flaw) is more than just a decorative detail – it marks the spot inside the tote where your keys are tucked away.

Uniquely handcrafted from a surplus exhibition banner created for the Pop-up accompanying programme of the exhibition Ripples at Jakopič Gallery. Instead of ending up in a landfill or incinerator, these discarded textiles have been transformed into new, functional products. Through exposure to curious eyes and constant handling in storage, the banners developed their own distinctive patina over time. Now carried in your hands, the products still bear traces of their previous life.
We hope they will continue serving a new purpose for many years to come, collecting new circular stories together with you.
The Classic Tote Bag also has an older sibling – the Grand Tote Bag – which surpasses it only in size (and, admittedly, in price).
With the opening of the exhibition Ripples: A Visual Diary of Water, the Destilator pop-up shop was also launched at the Jakopič Gallery. In the sustainable spirit of the Ripples project, you can find in it useful recycled products – wallets, bags, maps and more – made from an old promotional flag and and a banner for our past exhibitions. The products were conceived and handcrafted by sustainable designer Maja Modrijan, the driving force and heart behind Destilator Studio. We warmly invite you to secure your own limited-edition piece, literally stitched together from fragments of the 15-year exhibition history of Jakopič Gallery.
