The accompanying exhibition catalogue for the retrospective Zora Stančič: Fortunately, glances leave no imprints at the City Art Gallery Ljubljana is more than just a document of the exhibition – it is an autonomous artwork and a valuable archive of nearly several decades of creation by one of Slovenia’s most important visual artists.

Under the curatorial guidance of Dr. Sarival Sosič, the catalogue unfolds the development of the artist’s expressively diverse and technically daring approach to printmaking – an approach that transcends the classical boundaries of the medium and opens a space for play, associations, ambiguity, and deliberate formal interventions.
The curator’s text is complemented by two additional perspectives on the artist’s oeuvre: Božidar Zrinski presents the artist as a creator with a distinctive, subtle, yet vivid artistic language, while Ajda Ana Kocutar enters the artist’s world with a nuanced sense for the interweaving of reflection, image, and language.
The catalogue also gains a unique pulse through the selection of poetry by Anja Zag Golob, which extends the visual language of Zora Stančič’s work into the realm of words – words as graphic imprints, as traces that remain.
With the thoughtful design by Studio Kruh + AA, the catalogue rounds out the exhibition and opens new doors to understanding the artist’s oeuvre – its breadth, materiality, and the witty sensitivity with which Zora Stančič has been shaping the field of contemporary Slovene printmaking for decades.
