WATER
Exibition guide
On the occasion of the exhibition VODA / WATER, which aligned its content with the themes marking Ljubljana as European Green Capital 2016, an accompanying exhibition guide of the same title was published. The guide sheds light on the history of Ljubljana, which has been continuously shaped for more than 5,000 years in the area of present-day Ljubljana, largely thanks to its abundant water resources.
The publication brings together a diverse range of articles tracing the development of communal infrastructure in Roman Emona, the organisation of municipal services in medieval Ljubljana, the major sanitation efforts of the 19th century, and the management of drinking water and wastewater in Ljubljana today. It also explores the significance of water in art and science and presents an overview of more than 250 objects related to water from the museum collections of the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana.
