Šejla Kamerić // Perfect Tense
Exhibition Catalouge
Perfect Tense, the most extensive exhibition of Šejla Kamerić’s work presented in Slovenia to date, explores the pervasive consequences of continuous war and their entanglement with everyday life. Through a selection of explicitly political works, the artist unravels complex relationships between documentation, memory, and empathy, while questioning collective responsibility in times of ongoing conflict. The exhibition unfolds as a sequence of mirrored reflections, in which spaces, words, and artworks echo one another. Presented at Cukrarna Gallery concurrently yet independently from Adrian Paci’s solo exhibition Waves and Gazes, the exhibition catalouge Perfect Tense forms a subtle dialogue of contrasts, echoed also in the design of their catalog covers: Perfect Tense features a silver print on a black background, while Waves and Gazes is printed in black on a silver background.
