“Sketch, sketch, sketch!”
This is what Plečnik impressed upon his students, encouraging them to always carry a notebook with them. He himself did the same—more than 40 of the architect’s notebooks have been preserved in Plečnik House. It is precisely these notebooks, precious repositories of his creative ideas, that were digitized during Plečnik Year, at the initiative of and in collaboration with the National and University Library of Slovenia.
The result is a beautiful new Plečnik notebook, whose design faithfully follows the format of the planner used by the architect himself. Across 192 pages, the notebook features a selection of more than 150 drawings, sketches, and notes by Jože Plečnik—truly a wonderful product that can inspire each of us.
