The foreword to the catalogue was written by Blaž Peršin, Director of the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, who reflects on the importance of designing high-quality tourist souvenirs:
“If we walk through tourist shops in the city, we quickly realize that vendors are not offering unique, distinctive items brimming with creativity, but rather stalls filled with copies of foreign designs lacking any identity of their own. Designer Ljubica Čehovin – Suna has devoted herself to exploring new potentials and approaches in this field. Her design method stems from a desire to pose questions that encourage reflection. Her research (and its resulting products) does not begin and end with the object’s pure form, but with a precise understanding of the meaning it conveys.”
