Angelika Hribar, Elza’s granddaughter, an tireless guardian of the artist’s legacy and an invaluable source of in-depth knowledge about the family, contributed an article on the life of Elza Kastl Obereigner to the exhibition catalogue. The collection of preserved sculptures was art-historically evaluated by curator Barbara Savenc. Among other things, she wrote: “Reviving the memory of what is, to date, the last known woman miniaturist artist is not merely about brushing off the dust and glorifying the past; it is a reflection on the opportunities available to her as a young artist at the beginning of the 20th century, on her first creative cycles, and above all, a confrontation with a unique life story.”
Introductory reflections for the catalogue were provided by Blaž Peršin, Director of MGML, who emphasised: “An artist who paved the way for her successors, she remains an inspiration through her life and determination, and a revived mosaic piece of Ljubljana’s urban whole.“
